Bellmore-Merrick’s seniors celebrated their high school experiences while looking forward to the future at commencement exercises for Calhoun, Kennedy and Mepham on Sunday.

For the third straight year, the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District held three separate graduation ceremonies at the NYCB Theater in Westbury, and officials said that each school had about 335 graduates.

Students from Mepham, which serves North Bellmore and part of North Merrick, celebrated graduation at 12 p.m. on June 23. The honorees heard from a variety of speakers. Sen. Charles Schumer told the seniors to “go for it,” and follow their dreams. Valedictorian Connor Garet and Brandon Needelman, the salutatorian, also delivered their commencement addresses.

In the audience, proud parents and family members snapped photos while whistling and cheering their daughters, sons, sisters and brothers as they crossed the stage to be presented with their diplomas. Outside, graduates and family members posed for more pictures.
