Mercy team races for charity

Teams representing Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre finished first among all hospital competitors at the annual Marcum Workplace Challenge charity run/walk.

The July 26 event at Jones Beach State Park drew nearly 7,000 competitors representing 200 companies, non-profits and governmental agencies.

Mercy’s women’s team – Kerry Brown of North Merrick, rehabilitation medicine director of therapeutic services; Dr. Colleen Daly, director of hospitalist Services; and Laura Cavallo, physical therapist – finished first in the Healthcare Division, and fourth among all 54 women’s squads.

The proceeds from this year’s Workplace Challenge will benefit The Long Island Children’s Museum, The Children’s Medical Fund of New York and Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank.
