Merokean takes on the world at the Junior Davis Cup

At press time, Merokean Noah Rubin was competing in the Junior Davis Cup, representing the U.S. Tennis Association in Barcelona, Spain, from Sept. 25 to 30. In his singles match against Brazil, Rubin triumphed in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.

In all, 16 nations are competing in the Junior Davis Cup. Rubin’s teammates on the Davis Cup squad include Stefan Kozlov of Pembrook Pines, Fla., and Jared Donaldson of Cumberland, R.I. They are coached by Nicolas Todero. Rubin, who attended Kennedy High School in Bellmore during his freshman year and is now home-schooled, is the 16th ranked junior in the world and the No. 2 American junior.
