Oceanside's barely Know her

The band is barely Know Her, all the members live in Oceanside and attend Oceanside High School, and all are heading for New York City.

The band will be making its New York City debut August 13 at the The Bitter End, 147 Bleecker Street.

Playing original songs as well as covers of well known alternative rock and the classics, all the members of the band, Chava Dimaio, Paul Cirillo, Joe Samartano, John Bologna and Austin Sharpe sing and play multiple instruments.

barely Know her recently won the 5th Annual Battle of the Teen Bands hosted by Purpl in Hastings on Hudson, NY. Judged by music industry professionals Lee Danny, Steve Addabo and Barbara Prisament, they were given priceless feedback and guidance. The band used their prize, a day of recording, where they cut the soon to be released original song “The (Good) Okay Kids”.

On Sunday, August 14 at 7 p.m., they will be musical guests on “Broadcasting on the Beach with Halftime Howie”. Fans can come to Pancho’s Cantina in Island Park to watch the taping for FREE.
