An Oceanside woman turned herself in to the police on Sept. 16 and charged with statutory rape.

According to police, Stephanie Finnerty, 43, of Greentree Drive, Oceanside, had sexual contact with a south shore youth under 18 within Nassau County.

Police said that Finnerty was contacted by the Special Victims Unit and then reported to Nassau County Police Headquarters, where she surrendered without incident.

Finnerty was charged with two counts of a third degree criminal sexual act and third degree rape. She was arraigned in First District Court on Sept. 17.
