AOH Feis & Festival
The Nassau County Board of the Ancient Order of Hibernians welcomes the fall season with its annual AOH Feis & Festival. Enjoy a day chock full of activities at this most traditional celebration of Irish dance, music, piping, drumming and athletics. The 18th century tradition lives on in Nassau County, where the AOH’s eight strong divisions join to organize competitions of dance and piping and present awards to the best. There are competitions in Irish singing and art as well, games for children, and much more, including a performance by the Sporting Paddies.

Italian Experience
That popular area tradition, Hofstra University’s annual Italian Experience Festival, returns for its 21st year. One of the largest festivals of its kind in the U.S., the event feaatures a full slate of folkloric music and dance, children’s activities, craft exhibitions, and, of course, culinary delights, including a wine tasting. Entertainment includes singer and percussionist John Ciotta, who is known for wowing audiences with songs of Italy past and present; the Long Island Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra; “Pop-era,” with members of The Bronx Opera Company; Katie’s Puppets; Gary the Magician; and The San Remo Duo.
