According to the Narcotics/Vice Bureau, Maria Garcia, 55, of Star Avenue, had a stash of drugs at her home and was arrested at 11:24 a.m. on Meacham Avenue and News Street. Detectives executed a search warrant at her home, and discovered undisclosed amounts of heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine and pills, and more than $1,200 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Garcia is charged with seven counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance and seven counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. According to police, Garcia would be charged at a later date with the evidence recovered during the execution of the search warrant. She was arraigned on May 24 at First District Court in Hempstead.
