Police seek 2 armed men behind Valley Stream home invasion

The Nassau County Police are searching for two men who are responsible for an armed home invasion and robbery in Valley Stream on Monday night.

According to detectives, two black men knocked on the door of a home on Henrietta Street at 6:45 p.m. When a 41-year-old woman opened the door, the men forced their way into the house armed with handguns. Two 12-year-olds and a 3-month-old were also in the home.

The two men stole jewelry and cell phones and then forced the occupants of the home into the bathroom before leaving.

The victims described one of the robbers as being around 5-foot-7 and weighing about 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a heavy black jacket, blue jeans, white and black Nike sneakers and sunglasses.

They said the other culprit was around 6-foot-2 and weighed about 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown sleeveless jacket, a brown shirt, blue jeans and dark brown boots. Both men were wearing ski masks, according to authorities.

Detectives said they were unsure if the home was targeted and ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
