Police seek help in Hewlett fraud

Nassau County Crime Stoppers and the police are asking for assistance in identifying a woman sought in connection to an alleged attempted theft of gift cards valued at $800 from the CVS pharmacy store at 1220 Peninsula Blvd. in Hewlett on May 2.

According to police, the woman was in the store at 5:10 p.m. and tried to buy the gift cards with a fraudulent credit card and an out of state driver’s license that did not match her identity. When the store clerk refused to take the credit card, the woman left and was seen getting into a white Toyota sedan. A man was driving and they traveled on Mills Road towards Sunrise Highway.

Anyone with information about this incident can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential. There is a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
