Sandy victims renew their vows
Christina Daly/Herald
Daughter Isabella records the renewal of her parents Andrew and Christine Polizzi's vows.

Close to a dozen couples who were severely affected by Hurricane Sandy came from the Town of Hempstead's south shore to Island Park to renew their wedding vows on Valentine's Day. Town Supervisor Kate Murray presided at the ceremonies at the Bridgeview Yacht Club.

"The power of love is stronger than the forces of nature," Marray said. "While the superstorm destroyed almost everything in its wake, the love shared by our couples only grew stronger in the face of adversity."
