A 19-year-old Valley Stream man was hospitalized with a neck injury after Nassau County police said he drove intoxicated and crashed into a parked car and then a house on Sunday night.

Manny Pizarro was driving south on Mill Road at 11:27 p.m. when he lost control of his car, collided with a car parked in the driveway of a home at 2 Heritage Court and then struck the front of the home, according to police.

Dozens of residents gathered at the scene as firefighters and police responded. The Valley Stream Fire Department built supports for the section of the home that was damaged.

Pizarro was arrested and taken to a local hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. He will be arraigned “when practical,” police said.

He was charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and driving while intoxicated.

No other injuries were reported.
