Two drunk drivers collided with each other in Rockville Centre and seriously injured two passengers on March 21.

Peter Serra, 34, of Oceanside, was driving his 2012 Volkswagen SUV the wrong way on Merrick Road at 4:55 a.m., police said. As Serra approached Windsor Avenue, he struck a 2011 Toyota that was heading east. Melody Thompson, 38, of Valley Stream drove the Toyota.

Neither Serra nor Thompson were injured in the crash. Thompson’s passengers — two women, 30 and 29 — sustained serious injuries. The 30-year-old in the front passenger seat was in critical condition for multiple leg fractures and head trauma. The 29-year-old in the back seat fractured her left arm and sustained head trauma, cops said. She is reportedly listed in serious condition.

Serra was charged with first-degree vehicular assault, reckless driving, and Driving While Intoxicated. Thompson was charged with Driving While Intoxicated. Both were arraigned March 22 at First District Court in Hempstead.
