Valley Stream schools closed Wednesday

All Valley Stream public schools will be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22, because of the winter storm.
Snow has been falling on the region since Tuesday morning, and 10 or more inches is expected to accumulate by Wednesday morning. The closing affects all school in Districts 13, 24 and 30, and the Central High School DIstrict.
"It was the prudent thing to do," said District 13 Superintendent Dr. Adrienne Robb-Fund, who said most other South Shore districts already announced closings for Wednesday.
School is expected to resume on Thursday.
