World War II veteran Ann Vener Burger was recognized for her service by local veterans and officials.
Veteran honored for her service

Ann Vener Burger, a 95-year old World War II veteran, was recently honored for her service to her country.

Officers and members of the Robert F. Garrison VFW Post No. 3350, East Rockaway Mayor Fran Lenahan, trustees Ed Corrado and Theresa Gaffney and Legislator Howard Kopel joined Burger at Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing Care to honor her for her service in Northern France and the Rhineland from 1944 to 1945.

Burger was also awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Women Army Corps Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Attachment Double, WW II Victory Medal and WWII Honorable Service lapel button.
