About 250 participants crossed the finish line at Sunday’s 5K. The race included awards categories for active military, civilians, veterans, and the physically disabled. The male overall winner was Long Beach resident Kevin Kirk, 34, with a time of 18:04, and the female overall winner was Yorktown Heights resident Maggie McCarthy, 14, with a time of 21:32. Kevin McGuigan, 30, of Massapequa Park, won the male disabled veteran category with a time of 31:58. Active service members Robert Cove, of Maryland, and Alana Sprawl, of Virginia, won the male and female active military category. Cove, 42, finished in 24:56, and Sprawl, 37, finished in 56:39.
