We shouldn't put national security in the hands of contractors

The city accumulated $18 million in debt between 2008 and 2012. I applaud residents for their resistance to the program and their concern about the economic future of their city. At a time when Long Beach has so much debt and the economic situation remains precarious, this would be a huge step in the wrong direction.
