AftermodernisM Spring 2014
This exhibition illustrates a broad range of styles spanning non-objective abstraction through sharp focused realism. Featured artists Michael Bevilacqua, James Busby and Ridley Howard broaden the AftermodernisM concept of fractured asymmetry. Opening Saturday, March 8, through July 6. David Jacobs: Sight and Sound
An original exhibition of selected works from the prolific career of contemporary artist David Jacobs. Multiple aspects of his artistic sensibilities are conveyed through the sculpture on view, which date from 1959 to 1987. Through April 27. Edwin Ruda: The Band Paintings

Garden Party
The imagery of fête champêtre — outdoor entertainments and garden parties — are explored through paintings, sculpture, costume, fabrics and decorative arts and designs. Off the Wall: Sculpture From the Permanent Collection
An exhibition of the Heckscher’ sculptural holdings, providing a broad overview of sculptural practice in America. Representational and abstract works created throughout the 19th and 20th centuries are on view, including portraiture, allegory, nationalistic themes, and decorative work in traditional mediums. Spirit and Identity: Melanesian Works from the Hofstra University Museum Collections
An exhibit of ethnographic artworks and objects created by the distinct regional communities of the South Pacific, including ancestral figures, ceremonial masks, warrior shields, and ritualized practical objects. Using the Lessons of the Holocaust to Teach Tolerance
