A little rain could not douse the Festival of Lights at the Village of Valley Stream’s annual menorah lighting on Dec. 2.
“It was great,” said Mayor Ed Fare. “[The] Valley Stream Fire Department, Chabad, our village workers and all the temple members had a special night of singing, dancing and celebrating.”
As part of the ceremony, Rabbi Yitzchak Goldshmid lit the candles and Fare said a few words to the crowd as almost 100 people watched the candles light up the night sky.
