Celebrate National Roller Coaster Day at Adventureland

Long Island Adventureland will celebrate National Roller Coaster Day with free rides on both of the amusement park’s two roller coasters — Turbulence and the Lady Bug — for guests who donate to the annual school supply drive on Thursday, Aug. 16.

Opened in 2015, Turbulence continues to be a favorite ride of guests of all ages. The cars on the custom-made Mack coaster spin freely as the move on the track, giving riders 360-degrees of thrills and a unique experience every ride, park officials said. The Lady Big coaster is considered a kiddie ride, but speeding around its track, the ted coaster packs a punch and creates smiles and laughter for all riders.

School supply donations will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Aug. 16 at Adventureland. The donated supplies go to the park’s Helping Hands Foundation and this year will benefit children in the Elmont and William Floyd school districts. The park is at 2245 Brodhollow Road, Farmingdale.
