Gold Hall in the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library was awash in colorful clothes and rhythmic dancing as the Five Towns Indian Association presented its annual Children’s Day, a celebration of the culture of India.

Children’s Day, which is typically held every April at the library, consists of performances, skits and dance by children of all ages. The kids are exposed to learning how to use an audio system, manage the younger kids, write scripts and create slideshows and video clips.
