Judge Ellen Greenberg, who grew up in North Woodmere and is a gradute of Heweltt High School, has 31 years of experience in Family Court. 

She is running for Family Court this year on the Democratic, Green, Working Family and Women's Equality lines.

Greenberg graduated from Cardozo School of Law in 1981 before entering private practice for four years. She went on to Family Court as a law assistant in New York Family Court. In 1987, she joined the New York City Law Department's Family Court Division, specializing in juvenile delinquency matters.

She was the deputy borough chief in the Brooklyn office and the borough chief in the Bronx office, starting in 1997. She was elected to the Family Court bench in Nassau in 2006 and she was recently named an acting Supereme Court justice.

In Family Court, she handles child protective, custody and visition, juvenile delinquency and PINS, family offense, gardianship and estoppel proceedings. 

She is also a graduate of the University of Albany.

Greenberg is married with four children and lives in East Hills. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
