Displaced residents can vote anywhere

Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed an Executive Order on Monday, Nov. 5 which provides for any voter in Nassau County who was displaced by Hurricane Sandy to vote by affidavit ballot at any poll site in New York State.

Anyone in one of the federally-declared disaster counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Rockland, Westchester and New York City can vote at any polling place in the state by affidavit. Their affidavit will be transferred from the county in which they vote to the county in which their vote would be counted.
