The 99 Cent Time at the intersection of Elmont and Cromer Roads suffered from fire damage to the basement and first floor on Sept. 14, after a fire broke out in the store.

According to Fire Chief Robert Falco, the fire started around 9:45 p.m. and took firefighters from Elmont, Franklin Square and Inwood about two hours to put out. He said that the combustibles in the store made it more difficult to get the fire under control, but no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
