Firefighters raise money for Wounded Warrior

Members of the Valley Stream Fire Department Engine No. 2 recently raised money for Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior, a non-profit that provides wounded members of the armed services with clothing, entertainment and get well cards as well as organizes welcome home greetings for local soldiers and marines.

The members sold fire department shirts embroidered with the Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior logo on the front and their company name on the back. At the end of the fundraiser, Anthony Campone, shirt chairman, presented the money raised to Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior Chairman Joe O’Grady and Vice-Chairman Steve Grogan.

Extra shirts will be personally handed to wounded soldiers and Marines when Nassau County Firefighters Operation Wounded Warrior visits them at military hospitals along the east coast in December. Anyone who would like to help can mail a check to NCFF-OWW, PO Box 295, Garden City, NY 11530.
