Two well-known musicians will perform at the Long Beach Inn this weekend, part of a stellar roster of live acts at the popular West End bar and music venue this summer.
Philadelphia-based singer and guitarist G. Love, who plays a blend of blues, folk and hip-hop tunes, will return for his sixth annual summer show at the Inn on Saturday, June 29, at 6:30 p.m., and following last year’s performance there during his 25th anniversary tour.
Garrett ‘G. Love’ Dutton has released more than 15 records and influenced artists such as Jack White, Jack Johnson, The Avett Brothers, Slightly Stoppid and many more. Expect a high-energy mashup of funky vibes and songs with his signature blend of Delta Blues, hip-hop, funk, rock ‘n’ roll and jazz.
Additionally, Shamarr Allen & The Underdawgs — who plays the main stage at the New Orleans Jazz Fest — will perform at the Inn on Sunday, June 30, at 6 p.m. With influences in jazz, hip-hop, rock, funk rhythms, blues and country, he is the lead vocalist and trumpeter of his band and has collaborated with many renowned artists such as Willie Nelson, Patti LaBelle, Galatic, Harrick Connick Jr., and Lenny Kravitz, to name a few. No cover, and advance balcony reservations available.
The Inn is at 943 W. Beech St. Call (516) 432-9220 for more information or visit www.facebook.com/TheLongBeachInn/. For tickets to G. Love, visit https://glovelive-inn.eventbrite.com.
