Gimpelman, Pagones elected N. Bellmore, Bellmore library trustees

North Bellmore voters on Wednesday voted for resident Brandon Gimpelman as their next library trustee, while in Bellmore, Peter Pagones won the vote.

Gimpelman, a lifelong North Bellmore resident and Mepham High School graduate with a Bachelor’s in Political Science from SUNY Genesco, was elected with 113 votes. Resident Tara Casucci received 80 votes.

“Ours was a grassroots campaign from the very beginning, and I am truly humbled by each and every vote,” said Gimpelman on Thursday. “I look forward to serving the community as your library trustee.”

Pagones, a lifelong Bellmore resident and Kennedy graduate, won the trustee position in Bellmore with 72 votes to incumbent Emily Schreiber’s 55.

Also approved was an operating budget for the North Bellmore Library’s 2017-2018 year of $2,806,060.

In Bellmore, voters approved a $2,866,274 operating budget.
