Police reported the arrest of an Oceanside man on Nov. 8 for the possession of roughly 4,000 pills of Alprazolam, or Xanax, with the intent to sell.

Detectives reported that the investigation of a fatal overdose in Nassau County led to the arrest of Brendon Mueller, 24, at 7 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue in Oceanside on the charge that he intended to sell Xanax to another. After his arrest, police found nearly 4,000 of the pills in his Volkswagen vehicle.

Mueller is being charged with two counts of third-degree possession of a controlled substance and third-degree sale of a controlled substance. He was arraigned on Nov. 9 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
