Joint Fundraiser at Merrick Cinemas

Posted

Heather Blum-Goodman and her brother, Joshua Blum, both natives of North Bellmore, will be holding a joint fundraiser at Merrick Cinemas for the International Dyslexia Association and the Campaign Urging Research for Eosinophilic Disease.

Blum-Goodman was inspired to hold the fundraiser by her nine-year old son, Ryan Goodman, who has Dyslexia. Blum was inspired by his wife, Sandra, and their three-year-old child, who both live with eosinophilic diseases triggered by food allergies. The disease affects the body’s response to an allergen by sending out an excess amount of the white blood cells known as eosinophils, which causes inflammation and tissue damage. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the box office for $15 for adults and $12 for kids 12 and under. Tickets include admission to the film “Boss Baby,” unlimited popcorn and drinks and three raffle tickets. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased for $1 each or $5 for six tickets. The event starts at 10 a.m. on April 1.
