Lynbrook Mayor's Golf Outing was a hole-in-one

Hundreds of residents gathered at the Seawane Country Club in Hewlett Harbor on July 8 for the annual Mayor’s Golf Outing.

The event was sponsored by the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce and honored the Lynbrook Titans Football club and North Star Collision. Proceeds benefitted the Lynbrook Community Chest, which provides financial help to Lynbrook residents who have fallen on hard times.

Jeffrey Greenfield, who helped organize the event, said it was a great success. “After the welcome from the Mayor at noon, the rain stopped and a great day of golf was enjoyed by 141 golfers supporting the Lynbrook Community Chest,” he said. “We recognized two oustanding leaders and had a great night.”

Bryan Lanzello accepted a plaque on behalf of the Titans, while Ricky Valenti of North Star Collision was also honored.

Greenfield said the amount raised will be announced at a September village board meeting. Last year’s outing netted about $15,000.

The day’s festivities began with registration and brunch at 9:30 a.m., which was followed by a noon shotgun start. After the golfing was over, hundreds of people packed the country club in the evening for the event’s annual dinner.
