Lynbrook School District welcomes back students for first day of school

Posted

As the rain fell outside, students from kindergarten through 12th grade returned to the Lynbrook School District for the first day of the new school year on Sept. 6. Teachers and administrators were at each building to greet the returning students.

At the Lynbrook Kindergarten Center, parents and students got to get acquainted with the teachers. Lynbrook Board of Education President William Belmont and Superintendent Dr. Melissa Burak were also there to speak with parents about their roles in their child’s education.

Last month, Burak looked ahead to the start of the school year, and expressed her gratitude toward those who live in the district. “We are grateful to the community for its continued support of educational initiatives that help us achieve our goals,” Burak told the Herald in a statement. “Passage of the budget and proposition proposals has allowed us to strive for our maximum potential. … We are looking forward to a productive upcoming school year by continuing to serve the students and community of the Lynbrook Public Schools.”
