Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty, which has an office in Rockville Centre, was recently named one of the nation’s leading realtors, according to Real Trends magazine.

The Cold Spring Harbor-based firm placed 43rd on the list and was the only Long Island-based company to earn a spot among the top 50 residential real estate companies within “The 500” in the United States for sales volume.

“Long Island is a supremely competitive real estate market, and to see our organization do so well in a national survey is extremely gratifying and indicative of the level of hard work, professionalism and overall team work at play,” said Patricia Petersen, the firm’s president and CEO.

The ranking was based on its 2016 closed sales volume of just over $3.1 billion, the best in the company’s 95-year history. It also had a 25 percent increase in sales volume, a 14 percent improvement in closed units, and a 9 percent rise in average sales price at around $905,000.

Founded in 1922, Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty has 850 sales associates in 28 offices across Long Island and Queens.  The one in Rockville Centre is on South Park Avenue.

The company’s services include a relocation division, marketing and technology department, development marketing group, commercial and rental divisions and an ambassador abstract title company.

The firm previously earned a spot on the regents board of "Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate," and is on the Broker Council and Compass Group of Real Trends, The Asian Real Estate Association and The Realty Alliance, which consists of some of the real estate industry's most influential companies with participation "by invitation only.”
