Man arrested for home burglaries in Valley Stream, Elmont

An Elmont man was arrested on Oct. 27 for a string of four burglaries in Valley Stream and Elmont, according to Nassau County police.

Police said Ramon Kelly, 25, was spotted looking through windows of residences and walking up the driveway of a house on Dana Avenue in North Valley Stream on Oct. 27 at 1:50 p.m. Fifth Precinct officers located Kelly in the rear sunroom of the house and arrested him.

After an investigation, police said Kelly was tied to a burglary the same day at 1 p.m. on Dover Street in the Village of Valley Stream, as well as two others in Elmont — on Home Street on Oct. 18 and on Lydia Avenue on Oct. 24.

The stolen items include electronics, jewelry, wallets and credit cards.

Police also said on Oct. 10 Kelly used one of those credit cards to make a $700 purchase at Target in Elmont.

Kelly was charged with four counts of second-degree burglary, one count of second-degree attempted burglary and second-degree identity theft. He was arraigned on Oct. 28 in First District Court.
