A man was slashed across the face in an apparently random attack last week outside of a Baldwin bowling alley.

According to police, a 42-year-old man was standing outside of the Baldwin Bowling Center, on Grand Avenue, at 2 a.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 28. He was approached by an unknown man who, seemingly without provocation, slashed him in the face with an unknown object, leaving a deep cut to his upper cheek.

The victim fled the scene and flagged down a police officer a short time later to report the incident. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he received more than 50 stitches for the wound.

There’s no word on the identity of the attacker, but police are asking anyone with information about the assault to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 244-8477. All callers will remain anonymous.
