New retailers in West Hempstead?

The New York Real Estate Journal, a trade magazine, reported last week that NYCOM Cellular Corp, a Verizon retailer, signed a 10-year lease with a five-year option for 1,339 square feet of space in Nassau Plaza. The property sits at the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Nassau Boulevard.

Breslin Realty, the landlord, disputes the story. “We’re doing some entitlement work there, but there have been no commitments yet,” said Bob Delavale, director of leasing for Breslin Realty.

Jeannine Kemm, a leasing specialist at Royal Properties who was involved in the transaction, said that was not correct. “I can’t discuss the details, Kemm said, but a lease was definitely signed.”

The journal also reported that NYCOM would be sharing the space with “a proposed” Chipotle. Nassau Plaza has 23,430 square feet of retail space.
