The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce held its first ever Fam Fest festival at Oceanside’s Schoolhouse Green on Aug. 19. The event was a success for the chamber, which featured the presence of 30 local businesses, music, entertainment and over $1,000 worth of raffle prizes to give away.
“It was wonderful,” Maria Heller, a former chamber president said. “It was the first time we did something like that.” In addition to music, food and a karate demonstration from Shaolin Self Defense, the Oceanside Fire Department was on-hand to give out fire safety tips and to engage with children.
Local chamber businesses networked and showed off their wares, and attendees were very excited about the raffle prizes, Heller said. All were provided by Oceanside businesses.
