A Bellmore resident’s long-term houseguest has been arrested for allegedly stealing and pawning more than $50,000 worth of their belongings.

According to Nassau County police, Stacey Ribotsky, 47, was arrested late last month after living in a friend’s home since January. Police said that Ribotsky stole and illegitimately pawned designer handbags and jewelry valued at more than $50,000 from the homeowner.

Ribotsky was charged with second-degree grand larceny and was arraigned at Hempstead First District Court on July 22.

Detectives believe that Ribotsky, who has lived on a temporary basis with other friends in the past, may have committed similar crimes at their homes, and are asking anyone who may have been a victim to contact Seventh Squad detectives at (516) 573-6753.
