Police: Man broke windows of Merrick diner

Nassau County police are looking for a man who allegedly threw bricks into the windows of a Merrick diner.

According to police, on Aug. 1 at 1 a.m., a male suspect threw bricks through the south side and front door windows of the Phoenix Diner on Merrick Avenue. The damage amounted to more than $1,000, police said.

The suspect was last seen traveling on foot, south on Merrick Avenue across Sunrise Highway. He was described as white, five-foot-ten inches, wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.
