Andrew Saulpaugh’s scouting career has spanned more than a decade, and it ended with him achieving the highest honor.
Saulpaugh, of Seaford, officially became an Eagle Scout at a Court of Honor ceremony on Oct. 8, at the Seaford Fire House, where he was joined by family, friends, fellow Scouts, members of the Seaford American Legion and elected officials.
The Boy Scout from Troop 239 worked on his Eagle project over many months and helped clean, refurbish and landscape the outside worship area of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seaford.
The area, which is used for outdoor worship and by the pre-school, was restored to a pristine condition. With the help of family, friends, fellow Scouts and neighbors, Saulpaugh repaired certain areas of the church grounds, allowing parishioners and students to enjoy them.
