South Side Middle School students performed their latest Broadway revue, “Makin’ Change,” on Nov. 2 and 3 for hundreds of theater-goers.

A revue is a type of multi-act popular theatrical entertainment that typically combines music, dance, and sketches. “Makin’ Change” took place at Cal’s Diner, where the staff and patrons each represented their character’s idea of change.

While change can be exciting or scary, the show allowed the audience to ponder how it made them think about change in general. Set in a restaurant, the play featured songs from “Waitress,” in addition to “South Pacific,” “Sweet Charity,” “School of Rock,” “Hair,” “The Wiz,” “Hamilton” and other popular shows.
