Tales and tails at the Baldwin library

The Baldwin Public Library throughout the summer offered young children the opportunity to fall in love with books, while giving teenagers a chance to earn community service credit. The “Teens, Tots, Tales & Tail” event took place on Thursdays during July and August, ending on Aug. 9.

Baldwin teens read to the young children during the event, in which many of the tots got to pick which books they wanted to have read to them. Baldwin has hosted the program in years past, but this was only the second year a popular figure was brought back to the library.

Popular therapy dog Mr. Wrinkles was once again present at the readings and received plenty of love from children, teenagers and adults.

After the readings, children had the opportunity to receive a free lunch from Island Harvest through the New York state summer food program.
