TEAM WILL JACK - Because 11 years shouldn't get cancer

Posted

The entire RVC 6th Grade Lacrosse Team shaved their heads Saturday, March 19, 2016 at a Saint Baldricks event at the Parish Center to raise money for childhood cancer research! One of their lacrosse teammates, Will Jack, was diagnosed with cancer after the 2015 season. Kids' cancers are different from adult cancers. The boys wanted to do what they could to help him feel better, by showing solidarity, and raising money for a cure since childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. These 11 and 12 year old LAX boys, who call themselves TEAM WILL JACK, raised overe $32,000! A few of the parents of the boys went the extra mile. One family had "shooting shirts" designed for all the players with Will Jack's name on them and the latin phrase, "certs Bonum Certain, which means "fight the Good Fight." Another family had the team photo enlarged and professionally framed after the boys all signed the matt around it, Alos, RVC Lacrosse Hats, usually reserved for coaches, were presented to Will. Keep him and his family in your thoughts or prayers as we wait for his full recovery.
