Thousands flock to Greis Park for Lynbrook Expo

Drones soared overhead at Greis Park. A helicopter touched down in the fields. These were just a few of the sights at the 28th annual Lynbrook Expo on Sept. 23, which was attended by about 2,000 people.

“It went really, really well,” said Carol Burak, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and one of the event organizers. “It was really fantastic.”

SKYSCENE Area Media Services Virtual Reality provided the drone demonstration, one of the many new events this year at the Expo. Burak said they would likely be back next year after dazzling the audience.

Activities at the Expo included a horse show, performances from local bands and a display of about 60 classic cars. There were also several vendors and demonstrations by the fire department.

Burak said it takes an entire year to plan the Expo, and the chamber is already looking ahead the 29th edition in 2018. “It’s been a huge success over the years and that’s why it continues,” she said. “It’s very gratifying to know that all your work didn’t go in vain.”
