Hewlett Harbor’s Merik Aaron retires, former judge remains active

Hewlett Harbor resident Merik Aaron has retired after serving as a Nassau County Family Court judge, Supreme Court Justice for the Nassau County Criminal Court and Town of Hempstead principal deputy town attorney during a legal career that began in 1992.

Aaron’s professional life has also included stints as an educator: Department chairman of science for the Carle Place Public School District, district director of science for the Lawrence district, assistant principal for Calhoun High School in Merrick, district director of curriculum for the Bellmore-Merick Central High School District, and professorships at Nassau Community College and Touro Law Center in Central Islip.

He has worked as general counsel for a computer soft wear company, is a past president of the Five Towns Kiwanis Club and a former North Woodmere Republican leader.

Remaining active, Aaron is working for Seidner and Associates, PC of Garden City, a firm that specializes in divorce, family law, trusts and estates, and real estate.

More than 200 people celebrated Aaron’s career at his retirement party at The Carltun in Eisenhower Park in November.
