A Franklin Square woman and another person were arrested early this morning after a man reported that he was threatened with a gun in Valley Stream.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, received a text message from an acquaintance, Jacqueline Espinoza, 19, of Seabury Avenue in Franklin Square, at 1:18 a.m. requesting that he meet her in a parking lot on South Grove Street, according to Nassau County police. When the victim approached the vehicle that Espinoza was standing next to, a man got out of the vehicle, brandished a black handgun and allegedly menaced the victim.

The victim left the scene and called police, who located the vehicle on Rockaway Parkway and arrested Espinoza. The man she was with fled on foot northbound on Rockaway Parkway and was apprehended a short time later with the help of a canine unit. A loaded .40 caliber handgun was recovered from the vehicle.

Espinoza and Makhel Hull, 21, of Poughquag, a hamlet in upstate Dutchess County, were both charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing. They were scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Hempstead.
