Donation for Forest Road School

Posted

Two benches will be installed outside of the Forest Road School in District 30 thanks to a pair of donations from the community.

At its Dec. 17 meeting, the Board of Education accepted two $500 donations that will be used to purchase the benches. One donation came from the Mill Brook Civic Association, which represents the neighborhood where Forest Road School is located. The other came from Mill Brook resident Linda Kettering on behalf of her realty company.

Kettering is a Forest Road graduate herself, is a past PTA president at the school, and is also first vice president of the Civic Association. She and Mill Brook Civic Association Marc Tenzer each presented the board with checks.

The benches will be placed near the flagpole and will support beautification efforts the district has already completed in the front of the school, including new sidewalks and brick work.
