The 5th Precinct of the Nassau County Police Department hosted its annual night out at the Green Acres Mall in South Valley Stream on Aug. 4.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support for local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. The event including free child ID and fingerprinting kits, a canine demonstration, police bicycle demonstration and games.
