Garofalo said planning for the haunted firehouse began in July. He said firefighters from the department’s seven companies contributed their ideas to make it even better for this year.
“We hope it will be a success as it has been in the previous years,” Garofalo said, adding that the department welcomes feedback from the public. Money raised goes to the Fire Department for training and equipment.
The haunted house will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night in October, as well as on Halloween.
Croak said that the firefighters enjoy building the haunted house as much as the members of the public enjoy going through it. “It’s a lot of work,” he said. “It’s all worth it at the end.”
