Fun with science at Our Lady of Peace School

Our Lady of Peace School held its annual science fair on Feb. 16, where students grades six through eight displayed their experiments.

Under the direction of science teacher Rich Capuano, the children put their science knowledge to the test.

Dazlyne Casimir Pitter took home first prize among the eighth-graders for the “Mouth Bacteria” display. Kathrine Hansen came in first place in the seventh grade category for her display on “Can a Solar Oven Provide Enough Heat for Cooking” and sixth-grader Riley Tachiera won for an experiment on how the amount of sugar affects the freezing of homemade ice cream.

Ameerah Harris, Darleine Abellard, Alexandra Parente, Isabelle Funk, Lucas Pecora, Charlie Hawkins, Juan Alverez, Enda Hughes, Jake Curran, Sean Walsh, Kimberly Wong, Ralph Osias, Kaitlyn Florio and Meghan Douglas were also acknowledged for their work.
