A stolen SUV was crashed in Floral Park last Sunday after a knifepoint carjacking at the corner of Rottkamp Street and Oliver Avenue in Valley Stream, police said.

The 33-year-old victim was sitting in a parked white 2014 Chevy Equinox at 7:26 p.m. when another man entered the vehicle through the passenger side. An argument ensued and both men got out of the vehicle. The suspect pointed a knife at the victim, ran back to the vehicle, got into the driver’s seat and drove away, according to police.

The vehicle was reportedly crashed several minutes later at 200 Floral Parkway. It was recovered and impounded for an investigation. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male between 40 and 45, 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, with an unkempt beard, and wearing a black jacket and a black hat. He may have dreadlocks, police said.
