Look what you did, Dan
To the Editor:
Sometimes in our lives, good things happen around us and we’re in awe of the results. We don’t always know how this comes about, but we all seem to benefit somehow. Quite often, most of us can’t even pinpoint the cause of these good things — but this time I can.
Bay Park recently had a new playground constructed and donated by the Where Angels Play Foundation, a group that is building 26 playgrounds in memory of those affected by the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. They’re doing these good deeds in communities that were affected by Hurricane Sandy. The person who is responsible for this beautiful gift to our own community is resident Dan Caracciolo.
Thank you for post-prom help
To the Editor:
Fly with the Owls Inc. was pleased to sponsor the eighth annual post-prom breakfast for graduating Lynbrook High School students this year. The event, which took place at the Lynbrook Village Pool from 3:30 to 5 a.m., provided our students with a safe and fun environment in which to celebrate their upcoming graduation.
Students were served breakfast, had a chance to win raffle prizes including televisions, laptops and American Express gift cards, and enjoyed the use of the pool facility. Village Car Service provided complimentary car service home from the event.
We at Fly with the Owls Inc. wish to extend our deepest thanks to all who helped to make the post-prom breakfast possible, including Mayor Bill Hendrick and the Lynbrook Village board of trustees; Recreation Director Pat McDermott and his staff; the Lynbrook School District and its Board of Education; David O’Neill and Village Car Service; Michael Clancy and Lynbrook Bagels; and all of the parents and volunteers who chaperoned the event.
We are also grateful to the sponsors of the Fly with the Owls Run/Walk whose generosity provided the financial support for this and many other youth activities and programs that we sponsor. We look forward to welcoming the Lynbrook High School Class of 2015 to the ninth annual post-prom breakfast next June.
